Frequently Asked Questions

How frequently should I receive massage therapy?

This depends on what you are going through. If it is an acute injury or recent cause of pain and inflammation, it is better to do more frequent treatments initially to mitigate the pain response cycle. Otherwise, most people benefit from monthly routine treatments to maintain optimal health and wellness. I can discuss your individual needs with you personally and we will figure out what works best for you.

Should I combine the massage therapy treatments with other therapies like chiropractic or acupuncture?

Each person is different and responds to different therapies in different ways. Some people benefit greatly from having a combination of different treatments and I love to support your other personal provider to find the best treatment plan for you. If you are not sure about where to go with other treatments, I have a list of resources that I highly recommend and I’m happy support you with finding the right provider.

What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. There are cancellation fees if less than 48 or 24 hours.

Will I be sore the next day?

Everybody responds differently. If you have not had massage therapy routinely, you may find that you might be a little sore the next day.  But what typically happens is the soreness wears off and you will feel an improvement. Another aspect to ensuring that the treatment is effective, is to make sure you drink plenty of water.

Do I wear clothes?

I typically recommend that it is easiest if someone feels comfortable being fully disrobed so that I can work more effectively without having to work around clothing. You will always be draped to protect your modesty. However, this is about your comfort and whatever is best for you and I can easily accommodate that.
